Rejuvenate Worldwide is a Christian organisation run by dedicated volunteers with a vision to give young people the opportunity to reach out to others across the world less fortunate than themselves.
Who we are…
Rejuvenate Worldwide is a UK based charity that work’s with young people and communities in the UK and Africa to give them an alternative to umemployment, poverty, lack of basic medical provisions, abuse and being orphaned, our aim is to help people reach their potential and change the world in which we live.
Rejuvenate began in 1998 with an expedition to Uganda to climb Mt Elgon and work at an orphanage. A group of inner city young people, many who had experienced troubled backgrounds themselves, yet with the support of the youth workers have turned their lives around, raised money climbing the mountain and had a profound experience working at the orphanage.
Since then RJW has continued to work in the inner cities with young people through its links with youth projects, schools, community projects and churches.
Since 1998 the vision of RJW has been a pragmatic response linking the issues facing young people from deprived areas in the UK, mainly young people, and in the developing world to help bring about hope and change in the lives of those we work with.
Programmes were developed to work with young people who would benefit from employable skills and training. Expeditions have enabled young people who would otherwise never have an opporutnity to work and live in another country because of their background to gain an insight into aid work and ‘making a difference’
Rejuvenate has enabled through its work, teams of young people to construct a health centre, supported children’s homes, schools and children sponsorship, youth development programmes and educational programmes.
Our aim is to educate, train and develop new leaders that will continue the advocacy of children and young people.
Some of our aims are…
- to engage with at risk young people from inner city, urban and rural areas in the U.K.
- to inform and advocate on issues of global injustice.
- to gain personal self confidence, social skills and employable skills.
- have a long term commitment towards supporting community development and growth in the UK and overseas.
- and to equip, empower and educate young people to make a difference.
